We worked closely with Greg, the wonderful owner of Orchard Sauna, to design and build this bespoke sauna on a working city farm in Bristol. Set among paddocks and farm animals, the site is a completely unique setting for a sauna, right in the middle of the city.
The build made use of premium materials throughout, including a high quality thermo-aspen interior and custom-made triple-glazed oak window units. Particular care was taken with the finish, ensuring the sauna felt both robust enough for commercial use and refined enough to match the quality of the experience Orchard Sauna offers.
The site itself presented a number of challenges. Access was tight, the farm remained open to the public throughout the build, and work had to be carefully planned around the business’s opening schedule. By working flexibly and planning the details thoroughly with Greg, we were able to deliver a finished sauna that fits its surroundings perfectly and is built to stand up to commercial use for years to come.

Site access was extremely limited, so each wall had to be built individually and raised into position one by one before the structure could take shape.

Each wall unit weighed several hundred kilos, so getting them into position took a combination of large levers, careful coordination, and a good sense of humour.

The oak window units required workshop-level precision to ensure a perfect fit and finish.

With the structure complete, work moved inside to insulate the sauna before beginning the aspen tongue and groove cladding.

The finished sauna, with windows installed and clean shadow gaps, giving a refined finish to the completed build.

Attention to detail in the bench design, with carefully angled wooden backrests for comfort, clean lines, and a simple, stylish finish.
