We worked closely with Paul to design and build this bespoke oak-framed garden office, creating a solid, well-finished building that feels far closer to a small house than a typical garden shed. The aim was to produce a comfortable, practical workspace that could be used year-round while sitting naturally within the garden.
The building is insulated and fitted with high-quality aluminium windows and doors, providing excellent thermal performance and plenty of natural light. A flat rubber roof was chosen to keep the structure within permitted development regulations, while still delivering a clean, contemporary appearance. Internally, the layout was carefully planned to create two separate rooms, including space for utilities.
Construction was carried out on a robust block foundation, with electrics run discreetly beneath the floor. Every element of the build was designed and executed with longevity in mind, resulting in a strong, refined garden office that balances engineering, craftsmanship, and everyday usability.

A CAD model of the building, created during the collaborative design and quoting process to refine the layout, structure, and details before construction began.

Creating the block foundations, with careful measuring and levelling to ensure a solid, accurate base for the structure.

Constructing the timber frame and floor structure, with careful planning for window and door openings and the integration of insulation throughout the build.

A breathable membrane was fitted to the structure to provide weather protection and prevent moisture ingress before the external cladding was installed.

Aluminium doors installed and the external cladding completed, with a shadow gap detail added for a clean, modern finish.

Attention to detail in the visible oak window linings, designed to complement the front oak frame of the building. The windows, soffits and other hardware have been carefully colour-matched for a sleek finish.
